Land & Sea End of Vessel Programme

What end-of-life vessel management actually involves

A boat doesn’t need to be written off to become a liability. Storm damage, age, structural failure or a change of ownership can all leave you with a vessel that isn’t worth repairing and isn’t easy to move on. This is how we deal with that: removing the boat, transporting it, and preparing it for dismantling, recycling or disposal.

We’d rather do that than watch an unwanted boat break down further on a mooring, in a marina berth or a storage yard. Whether it belongs to an individual owner, a marina, a council or an insurer, we manage the process from the first phone call to the last tip run.

A cheaper way to move on, because you're not paying for the trip alone

Most vessel removal gets quoted as a dedicated job: one boat, one truck, one owner covering the full cost of getting there. We work differently. Before we schedule a run, we check who else in the area needs a vessel gone by a similar date, and where it makes sense, we move several boats on the same trip. If your vessel’s in the area and ready to go by then, it travels on that same run, and you only cover your share of getting there instead of the whole trip.

01

Tell us what you've got

Send through the vessel's make, size, condition and location so we know what we're working with.

02

We match it to a run

If another job already has us heading near your vessel, your removal gets built into that trip.

03

It moves as part of the group

Your vessel is collected and transported alongside the others, splitting the cost instead of carrying it alone.

Sorting out a boat that's part of a deceased estate

Dealing with a boat is rarely top of mind when you’re administering an estate, especially if it’s sunk at its mooring, half-submerged in a marina berth, or has sat unused and deteriorating for years. We can locate the vessel, recover it if needed, and remove it so it’s off the estate’s list of problems.

Depending on the vessel, Shaun will sometimes buy it outright rather than charge to take it away. Where that’s possible, it can put money back into the estate instead of costing it, so it’s worth asking about before assuming the boat’s a write-off.

Before you report it to Maritime

If a derelict or abandoned vessel gets reported and Transport for NSW’s maritime division takes over the removal, it’s usually billed at a higher rate than arranging it privately, and the physical job is often handed to a contractor like us anyway. Calling us directly first can mean a faster result and a smaller bill for the same outcome.

Boat Towing Vehicle

Why choose us

We plan every job individually, because no two vessels reach the end of their working life in the same condition or the same place. A storm-damaged yacht, an abandoned boat left on a mooring, and a commercial craft going in for decommissioning all need a different transport plan, not the same one stretched to fit.

That planning keeps transport safe and efficient, with as little disruption to marina operations and the surrounding waterway as possible, backed by real marine transport experience rather than a guess.

(eg. Aluminum,  Fibreglass, Timber, Ferrocement etc)
Whenever possible, we group jobs in your area together, so you're not carrying the full cost of transport on your own.
Tell us anything specific you would like us to know about the vessel.
Drag & Drop Files, Choose Files to Upload You can upload up to 5 files.
Attach some photos of the vessel to give us a better idea of what we'll be working with.
